Lake Worth Belongs to ARTISTS!

Well, if I had to pick a weekend to spend on Lake Avenue, it would be this weekend! Beginning this Friday (the 19th), Lake Worth is definately the place to be if you love good food, great shopping and amazing ART! CGMS Gallery artists Karen Winchild, Marcia DiSylvester, and Debra Gower will be featured at this Friday's Gallery opening. Karen creates amazing works in ceramic (her gigantic seashells are breath-taking), Marica creates gorgeous ceramic teapots and vessels incorporating natural elements and vibrant colors, and Debra designs beautiful work in stained glass.

Come by from 6:00 - 9:00 PM to have a glass of wine and meet these talented artists.

Now, that's just the first on the list of events this weekend. Lake Avenue will transform into a stretch of concrete canvas during the annual Street Painting Festival. You don't want to miss this! Saturday and Sunday artists from around the world will gather to cover Lake Avenue with images rendered in chalk. From 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM you can watch artists work "live" in the street. There will be food and music on the Avenue, so please come by to see this fantastic, temporary art event. Fun for the entire family--stop by the Gallery to say hello while you're there!

Whew! As it that isn't enough, on Sunday evening (the 21st) several gallery artists will be represented at "Wild Things", a wildlife/nature inspired art show benefiting the Rare Species Conservatory Foundation. This show will be held in Loxahatchee at a private studio and will be a great night of art and wildlife. Special furry and feathered friends from Busch Wildlife Sanctuary will be on hand to meet guests, and New York Times best selling author Tami Hoag will be joining the fun. Contact CGMS Gallery artist Karen McGovern for more details.

See you on the Avenue!!

Love is in the Air...and So Much More!!

It's February, and you know what that means...Valentine's Day! Please, forget boring chocolate or flowers...how about giving your loved one an original piece of ART from CGMS Gallery? A truly one-of-a-kind gift for your true love. Now that's original! The gallery offers so many wonderful creations to choose from. How about a hand carved stone heart by Gallery artist Norm Gitzen? Or perhaps extraordinary cloisonne jewely by master jewelers Gael and Howard Silverblatt? Need something truly unique and unusual? Okay, Karen McGovern creates funky, ecclectic jewelry using found objects, butterfly wings, and antiquities. The list goes on and on and on...

The perfect time to come and take a peek would be THIS FRIDAY, Feb 5th. Gallery artists Joyce Brown, Betty Wilson and Theo Sable will be featured. Joyce creates amazing sculpture, Betty works with clay and glass, and Theo is a wonderful jewelry artist. You simply can't go wrong! So stop by from 6:00 - 9:00 on Friday for a glass of wine and to meet these talented artists. We'll make sure this Valentine's Day is one for the History books!

Also in the news this month is CGMS Gallery artist John McCoy. He recently had a wonderful article written about him in the Palm Beach Post. Click here for more...
